The original Rolesville Furniture store was a converted mule barn

About Rolesville Furniture

The Old Mule Stable came to life once again when Herbert Eddins opened Rolesville Flea Market 26 years ago on East Young Street where he bought, sold and traded used merchandise from the time he got off work at Burlington Industries until dark. The first month’s rent was $10 and a lot of hard work went into cleaning out the building before he could set up shop. It is said that the idea for the mule stable came from men hanging out at the country store across the street discussing the need for a livery stable in the town. The story goes that the mule stable was started the next day with trees cut down in the nearby woods. As time went by, mules went out and tractors came in so the stable was converted to a barn with thick tongue and groove floors for the purpose of storing bag fertilizer.Mr. Rick Eddins - at your service It was designed so that a wagon could drive through the building to be loaded before the ever popular "drive-thru’s" of today! After Herbert received his auctioneer’s license, the facility was used as an Auction House in the mid 1980’s with an outdoor toilet until indoor plumbing could be installed.

While working full time at Square D Co in Knightdale, volunteering to work 2nd and 3rd shifts and assisting his father during the day, Rick heard customers asking for new furniture. Always listening to their customers, Rick began carrying new furniture and was frequently complimented on the low prices. With 20 years of service, Rick decided it was time to leave Square D Co to fulfill his dream of being in business for himself and began to expand the lines of new furniture. Hence, Rolesville Furniture was born!

Today, Rolesville Furniture is located on 2 corners in downtown Rolesville and encompasses 15 buildings and 3 acres. Clients tell Rick they appreciate the huge selection and guaranteed low prices. In 2004, the Rolesville Furniture Outlet opened across the street carrying closeouts and discontinued bargains.

What does the future hold for Rolesville Furniture? Rick says "keep watching and saving big dollars on all your furniture needs." You can be assured that Rick continues to "think outside the box" and is always searching for new ideas!
